Professor Gopi Chand Narang, Professor Emeritus of University of Delhi, will be holding a lecture on "Linguistic relationship between Hindi and Urdu", organized by the Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages and
Literatures.
Professor Gopi Chand Narang is an eminent Urdu writer, scholar, critic and linguist. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by the President of India in 2004 and Padma Shri in 1991. He was also the President of the Sahitya Akademi between 2003 to 2007 and has published more than 56 books in English, Hindi and Urdu.
